Privacy Policy

Last updated August 16, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Laya Vantage Systems Corp. (“Laya Vantage,” “we,” “us”), the company behind ScoutVantage (scoutvantage.app), collects, uses, and shares personal information, and the choices you have. It applies to the Service and does not cover third-party sites or services we link to.

Draft for review. This document is a good-faith starting template tailored to ScoutVantage — it is not legal advice. Have it reviewed by a qualified attorney before you rely on it, and fill the bracketed fields (governing state, contact addresses) with your final details.

1.Who we are

Laya Vantage Systems Corp. is the controller of the personal information described here. You can reach us at [privacy@scoutvantage.app] or [mailing address]. If we appoint an EU/UK representative or a Data Protection Officer, their details will be listed here.

2.Information we collect

Information you provide:

  • Account: your email address (for magic-link sign-in), and, if you use Google sign-in, your name, email, and profile image as provided by Google.
  • Your Content: workspaces, saved niches, filters, and notes you create.
  • Support and communications: messages you send us and your email preferences.

Information collected automatically:

  • Usage and device data: pages viewed, features used, referring pages, approximate location (from IP), browser and device type, and timestamps.
  • Cookies and local storage: a session cookie to keep you signed in, and a local preference for light/dark theme. See “Cookies” below.

Billing information:

  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number. We receive limited billing details from Stripe such as your subscription status, plan, the last four digits and card brand, billing country, and payment history.

Note: the App Store data ScoutVantage analyzes is public information about apps and companies, not personal information about you.

3.How we use information

  • provide, secure, and operate the Service, including sign-in and saving your research;
  • process subscriptions, trials, renewals, and prevent payment fraud;
  • respond to support requests and send service and transactional messages (e.g., trial-ending and billing notices);
  • understand usage and improve features, performance, and reliability;
  • send product updates or marketing where permitted — you can opt out at any time;
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

4.Legal bases (EEA / UK)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on:

  • Performance of a contract — to provide the Service and process your subscription;
  • Legitimate interests — to secure, analyze, and improve the Service and prevent fraud, balanced against your rights;
  • Consent — for optional marketing and any non-essential cookies, which you may withdraw at any time;
  • Legal obligation — to meet tax, accounting, and legal requirements.

5.How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California and other U.S. state laws. We disclose information only to:

  • Service providers (subprocessors) who process data on our behalf under contract, including: Supabase (database + authentication), Vercel (hosting and analytics), Stripe (payments), Upstash (caching), Anthropic (AI summarization), and Google (sign-in, if you use it);
  • Professional advisors (legal, accounting) as needed;
  • Authorities when required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service;
  • A successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

An up-to-date list of subprocessors is available on request at [privacy@scoutvantage.app].

6.AI processing

To generate optional review-gap summaries, we send publicly available review text and related public app datato our AI provider (Anthropic) via its API to produce a summary. We do not send this provider your account credentials, and, per our provider’s API terms, your inputs and outputs are not used to train its models. AI summaries are informational and may be inaccurate.

7.Cookies and tracking

We use a strictly-necessary session cookie to keep you signed in and a local storage value to remember your light/dark theme. We use privacy-respecting product analytics to understand aggregate usage. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Where required, we honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as an opt-out of sale/sharing. You can control cookies through your browser, though disabling essential cookies may break sign-in.

8.Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. After you delete your account, we delete or de-identify personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements (for example, we retain records of subscription consent as required by applicable auto-renewal laws).

9.International data transfers

We are based in the United States, and our providers may process information in the U.S. and other countries. Where we transfer personal information from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent mechanisms.

10.Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights: to access the information we hold about you; to correct it; to delete it; to data portability; to opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising (we do none of these); to limit use of sensitive information; and to be free from discrimination for exercising your rights.

EEA/UK residents may also object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, and lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority. California, and other U.S. state, residents may exercise the rights above under laws such as the CCPA/CPRA and similar state statutes.

To exercise any right, email [privacy@scoutvantage.app]. We will verify your request (typically via your account email) and respond within the timeframe required by law. You may use an authorized agent where permitted. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our response.

11.Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards — including encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers — to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you and regulators as required by law.

12.Children

The Service is intended for professional use by adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

13.Third-party links and Apple

The Service may link to third-party sites (including the App Store). We are not responsible for their privacy practices. ScoutVantage is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, Apple Inc.

14.Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice (such as by email or in-app). Your continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Policy.
